Custom Packing Lists Location

Where would I locate our custom Packing Lists if I need to modify them?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Custom Packing Lists Location

Hello

You will find the reports normally in (or where you have installed Sage (MAS) 500 ERP):

C:\Program Files\Sage Software\Sage MAS 500 Client\Module\Reports\name of report file

Example:

C:\Program Files\Sage Software\Sage MAS 500 Client\SO\Reports\sozrg002.rpt

If  you have Crystal installed you can select the reports from Common Information (CI module), CI Setup, Set Up Business Forms.

For example: Select Packing List Form from the lookup.  The Crystal Report name is sozrg002.rpt should appear in the Report name field, then you would click the Design button to modify the report.

You can add your customized reports to the program file location, then create a Form Name in CI Set Up Business Forms and click 'Browse' to associate your custom report (Crystal Report, Report Name field) to the new Form Name.  You can then use this form as your pack list.

Let me know if this helps

Thank You

Re: Custom Packing Lists Location

Do you mean that a custom packing list needs to be on each workstation that has a MAS 500 client or just the one on the MAS 500 server?

Skip, when you say "the MAS 500 server," do you mean the database SQL Server, or the Terminal Server?  As you may know, Crystal Report files are not typically stored on a database server.   If you are not running in a Terminal Server environment, then the answer would be, "Yes, you would need to copy the custom packing list Crystal Report file to each client PC that might have someone using it who might have a need to print that custom packing list."   However, there is a way, even without a Terminal Server, to set up your environment so that all MAS client PCs look to a single shared location for any needed Crystal Report files.  Instructions for setting that up can be found in a Sage KB article called "How to configure reports to run from a shared location."  It is Resolution ID 2562.
