Hi Louise,
MAS 500 non-financial accounts work very differently than MAS 90's. Could you please post this on the MAS 90 forum? If you are talking about MAS 500, let me know and I'll let you know how it works.
Thanks,
Sage 500 ERP Design Analyst

In Sage 500 (MAS 500) there are non-financial accounts and statistical accounts. A non-financial account is when your account group is Non-Financial. Only non-financial amounts can be posted to this account type. You would enter the amount in the debit or credit fields of the journal entry. Statistical accounts are any account that you designate the Posting Type in Maintain Accounts to Statistical or Both. This allows you to enter the units as a positive or negative. In the journal entry it is a separate field from the debit/credit fields.
If an account is assigned to a 'Non-Financial' group and the posting type is:
- Statistical: only units can be posted to that account.
- Financial: only amounts can be posted to that account.
Note: In Process Journal Transactions, the entry does not have to be in balance. You will receive an "Out of Balance" message during data entry, click 'OK' and continue to post. - Both: amounts and units can be posted to this account.
Note: In Process Journal Transactions, the entry does not have to be in balance.
If an account is assigned to a group other than 'Non-Financial' and the posting type is:
- Statistical: only units can be posted to that accounts
- Financial: only amounts can be posted to that account.
Note: In Process Journal Transactions, the entry must be in balance. - Both: amounts and units can be posted to that account.
Note: In Process Journal Transactions, the entry must be in balance.
Note: The posting type for an account can be changed only if there are no transactions (posted or open) created for that account. To accommodate Statistical and Financial posting type for an account for the future, set up an account posting type as Both.
Okay, now that we understand the differences, let talk about FRx Desktop. To view the non-financial account (group is non-financial) information that you posted to the debit or credit fields on the Column layout select Type = GL, Book Code = ACTUAL. To view the statistical data for the non-financial account select Type =GL, Book Code = STATISTICAL. To view the data you posted to the Statistical Account (group is anything other than non-financial and posting type = both or statistical) select Type = GL, Book Code = STATISTICAL.
I hope this helps!

Thanks, i can now get them to print in their columns. I need to calculate a statistical account with a budget account -
the statistical being the current hours, the budget being the current budget. Does FRX let me divide the statistical by the budget??
Almost there...Louise
