Financial reporting

We are in the planning stage of the 7.4 release of MAS500 and are planning to add to the Financial Reporting capability of the product. Based on that, your input and ideas are valuable in helping to shape the product. Here are some questions we would like to know about your operation and feel free to provide additional thoughts you have.

 

 

  • What do you currently use for financial reporting?
  • Why do you use this solution?
  • What is missing in your current solution?

When you say "financial reporting," does that basically include any report currently found (or that would be found if it existed) under either CM, GL, or MC?   Or could that list be expanded to include AP, AR, PO, & SO also?

I'm specifically looking for feedback on the type of reporting you would do with a product like FRx for example. Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, etc...

We currently use Spreadsheet Server by Global Software. 

 

We use it because it is VERY easy to use and is Excel based.  We can create custom security and distribution lists.  It has drill down capabilities to the transaction level as well.

 

Does not have the ability to drill down based on Reference Codes.

Mr. Sisk,

 

I am new to the forum we are currently using MAS 500 version 7.2.  our financial reports are made thru FRx  and Crystal Reports.  Although using FRx is straight forward I find that the reports made in FRx is not as professional looking or versatile  as we want.  Our Balance Sheet, Income Statement are exported from FRx to Excel so we can make the reports more professional looking for management.  For our Budget reports we use both FRx and Crystal Reports.  In FRx we use it as a reconcile tool for our budget reports, which is produced in Crystal reports.  FRx in my view needs to be upgraded it's dated.

Sage is planning to release a product to replace the functionality of FRx.  The new product is called "Sage MAS Intelligence."

I am new to this forum and just saw this posting.  Two years ago we upgraded from MAS200 to MAS500 version 7.0.5.

For our financial reporting we are using a combination of the financial report templates provided with MAS (for balance

and income statements). Other financial reports were developed in an outside app using vb.net. We don't use FRX.

 

Our clients miss the functionality that was in the MAS200 financial report platform. MAS200 had a report wizard with

more formatting options.
