Import AR Customer Ref Num using DataPorter

I am trying to import customer reference numbers into already created customers. I get the following message " 'Maintain Customers ' is not ready to accept data or record already exists". I had read that DataPorter can add new data only but was hoping since the field is blank it might populate. Any suggestions on how I may accomplish this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: Import AR Customer Ref Num using DataPorter

You can use Data Migrator.  But since you didn't mention it they probably don't have it.

The easiest way then is to create a csv file, customer id and ref.  Use the import feature of SQl to import the data, then use an update statement to add it to the customer records.  I do this practically every week (twice today).  The only gotcha is Sage will say they don't support this.  If none of that make sense then I would ask your SQL guy (assuming you have one).

Good luck.

Re: Import AR Customer Ref Num using DataPorter

Are there any issues using DataPorter to import with people accessing MAS 500?

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean "Are there any issues using DataPorter to import while people are accessing MAS 500"?

If so, then no.  Multiple people can be using MAS 500 and DataPorter at the same time.
