Anyone have a date for when the updated 1099 forms release will be posted by Sage?

In case anyone is interested, the standalone installs for the 2010 1099s are now available on the MAS500 support page.

It's interesting that the v7.3 2010 1099 Update Release Notes say that you must have the 2009 1099 Update installed prior to installing the 2010 1099 Update.
There is no 2009 1099 server update, there is only a client update for 2009.
The 2009 Client Update updates:
APZRQ001.EXE
ReportEngine.dll
Apzrq001.rpt
Apzrq002.rpt
Apzrq003.rpt
The 2010 Client Update updates:
APZRQ001.EXE
Apzrq002.rpt
Apzrq003.rpt
My current client box was installed fresh at v7.30.2, and it seems that installing the 2009 Update changes nothing on my client. Even if it did, the executable as well as two of the three 1099 RPT files will be overwritten by the 2010 Update.
I don't quite understand why the 2010 Release Notes list the 2009 Update as a pre-req for installing the 2010 Update.

I read that MAS can print 1099's on blank forms. Do I need to download something first?
Your assistance is greatly appreciate.

Where did you read that?
I would be also interested to know if MAS500 can print on blank 1099. However, does IRS accept those forms? Our accountant was not sure about it.
By the way, when we printed our 1099 we had a strange situation. The lines were not aligned with the preprinted form on page ten only. The forms were printed perfectly before and after but not on page ten. Weird.

MAS 500 won't generate the form. However you can make your printer do it (maybe). I don't know how but I've seen other people download a form into the printer memory and then print to the printer. I would suggest contacting your printer company and see what they say. I think it only works for printers which have memory which I believe throws out most cheap printers. If you have a decent HP I'm sure it will work.

Thank you!
We have a Kyocera 300ci Copier/Printer/Fax machine. It definitely has memory in it. It seems I have to read the user guide now...

If Mas will not print the forms do you have to purchase special forms from Mas or generic from anybody?
Thanks
