I have seen a couple of posts that might relate to workstation setup. When installing MAS client on a workstation, it is very important to exclude LAUNCH32.EXE and PVXWIN32.EXE from antivirus scan, then exclude the entire MAS folder and subfolders.
Make your server's antivirus is scanning the directory.
If nothing else this will improve performance, but it will also help eliminate any stalling type symptoms and failure for processes to finish.
In addition, doing the following on a regular basis will help also.
1. Make sure your antivirus is up to date and run a scan
2. Delete all Internet Explorer Temp Files
3. Delete all Temp files in C:\Temp, C:\Windows\Temp, and C:\Docs&Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp.
4. Get from downloads.com Spybot Search and Destroy,
5. Defrag the Harddrive.
