Welcome!
Take a look at your 4.40 package you received from Sage. This should contain some documentation, but primarily it's located on the installation CD. Other than that, you are likely best to give your Reseller a call.

We still have a system running 3.71 because of client write up product. Any accountants out there have suggestions on upgrade path? We have a couple of workers that can run 3.71 data entry in their sleep, hate to retrain them for slower product.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

We went from 3.71 to 4.40 as of november 30. Our data entry for write-up is so smooth. She loves the new version, really very few changes to her workflow. (Shes not a youngster, but still ok with the changes)
I read and reread the instructions, but it went smoothly. I had to call the reseller on the Crystal Reports changes and how to customize our invoices, we use Mas internally too.

We are going to convert from 3.71 too.
How well do the CR reports convert - or do they?

It depends on the report, but overall I've had reports convert pretty well.

Because of the table changes in the Business Framework modules, you'll find that custom reports and customized forms for those modules will have to be recreated. Payroll, Job Cost, and Work Order do convert, but some fields have to be remapped. If you're not using custom forms, the standard reports and forms work fine, and are better looking that the old Crystal version forms.

I have rarely had to recreate custom REPORTS.
Custom FORMS always have to be completely re-created when moving to the business framework.
Note that there is a difference between a custom REPORT and a custom FORM.

I've experienced a few instances where MASCRCW didn't convert some custom reports. For example, there's certain files that no mapping exists for, like the APB Check Hist file and IM_13, and also UDF files like SO_90 and PO_95 - at least at the time I ran the Utility. And there's certain data fields that no mapping exists for either. It also doesn't appear it can convert reports that have links to external files such as an xls or mdb - although that could have been due to me running the utility on my local system and not the client's system. I've also found that when going thru the Wizard and clicking Search, it won't necessarily pick up "all" files - I guess if it can't interpret them correctly for whatever reason. It just skips them and unfortunately doesn't inform you that it skipped them. At least for the reports that fail the conversion, you see that in the log - so be aware. Also keep in mind that even though converted reports show as Complete in the mascrcw log, Warning messages might be listed if specific fields couldn't be mapped - but I'm pretty sure at least most of those messages are related to running this utility on my own local system vs. the client's system.
