Dated 12/28/09 and released on 12/31/09 these two supported platform matrix updates (one for MAS90 and one for MAS200) are the first since 2/11/09 and show the officially supported hardware and software platforms.
The matrix are contains recommendations for memory usage as well as some tips for running under Vista (Windows 7 apparently will not be supported until 4.4).

Tip: While I don't recommend running MAS 90 or MAS 200 on an unsupported platform - here are my quick experiences:
a. To load MAS 90 or 200 workstation setup to a Windows 7 workstation you'll probably have to use the install CD to run workstation setup. I've found that trying to run wksetup from a mapped drive on the server produces an incorrect "no mapping" type error message. Running wksetup from the CD for each workstation has worked. YMMV.
b. Avoid 64-bit operating systems as that seems to be incompatible with Paperless Office unless you use an unofficial and not guaranteed to work -- workaround.

His links display the official Sage documents.
Wayne's posts may be part self-promotion, but they are far from lame. He gives more to the Sage community than he gets back from his online presence.
Keep up the good work Wyane.

Steve,
While I typically agree with you on unoffical site postings, MAS along with most Accounting Package Companies are very secretive about many documents that Wayne has posted. If you are not up to date with maintanance and/or don't have a support login there are many articles which the daily IT professional can not get to but needs. Individuals such as Wayne help with this issue.
As far as self promotion, I think all of us consultants would agree we would not be in here near as much as we are if we didn't think it would help promote our reputations and our business in the MAS community. While we provide a lot of help for free, we do get solicided to do work. I cannot say I have seen Wayne self promote directly in a post like I have seen other companies which have point blank said to some posts "Here is my company name and phone number call me and I'll give you a quote."
Wayne keep up the good work and thanks for helping keep the forum a success.

Without doing a lot of research, my educated guess is that Not just Sage but for the most part all accounting softwares are recommended to be on a standalone server. It is not recommended to put then on an ADS Domain Controller. Foundation Server ios designed to be in a stand alone environment as streamlined ADS Domain Controller. Therefore Sage can not recommend putting MAS on a stand alone server and give Foundation server as meeting minimum requirements.

rjledger,
This is not typically something that would be listed on the supported platform matrix as SDATA is an internal sage platform being used to integrate Sage applications with one another. Why the interest in SDATA?

I take it you have not been reading the SalesLogix forums. Also, the SData.Sage.com site either.
It's considered to be a "public" interface to Sage products. In fact, there is quite a bit of information out there on the topic open to anyone that wants to sign up. http://sdata.sage.com
I'm a SalesLogix BP and have been working w/SData for about a year or so. We have been working on integrating SalesLogix via SData w/non-Sage applications for a while. We wanted to extend our integration to using SDtat as the way to build out our integration w/MAS90/200. Currently we go direct via ODBC to read data and the Providex business object to write/update. Yes, I know about Dynalink.. we carry Dynalink certification but will never use it w/our clients since:
A - Our solution costs no more than Dynalink (we take full revenue rather than give any back on a Dynalink license ;-)
B - Our solution works, is reliable and is fully customizable (we give our customers the unlocked source code)
FYI: The Sage SalesLogix folks (in AZ) consider SData to be an external interface. In fact, the product (SalesLogix) ships w/an SData Web Service portal.
