Anyone have a foolproof list of troubleshooting out of balances?

Run a detail report and see if someone made a journal entry to those accounts.

Keep running the reports back a month at a time to see when they went out of balance.

Well first I make sure the client is running the Trail Balance and NOT the Aged Invoice Report. You would be surprised how many people make that mistake.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I just found a great Anytime Learning video in Sage University that explains this and the closing process in clear terms - much better than perusing the help and/or studying checklists, although checklists are great and online on several business partner sites.
