I have a deposit which posted correctly to the G/L and A/R  but did not post over to the bank rec.module.  This has created an out of balance on my June bank reconciliation register even though this deposit was posted on 7/6 . Could this have been created by an incomplete or interrupted update and, if so, how do I correct?

An interrupted update definitely could cause this issue, however it would be hard to know for sure what the cause was.

To correct it, go to check deposit and adjustment entry and manually re-enter the deposit.  This will not create an entry to the general ledger.

Well, the strangest thing is that even though this deposit does not show in the bank register (check, deposit/adjustment entry), my current bank balance ties to the G/L.  If I manually enter the deposit, the current bank balance changes.

Interesting,  had a client yesterday saying the same thing.  A deposit had disappeared.  When she tried to show the situation to me,  the deposit had reappeared even though we had done nothing???

Wonder if doing a rebuild key files and a rebuild sort files on bank rec might kick it loose.

Any possibility that the deposit has a future date on it?

Very strange indeed, it's in the current bank balance but doesn't show.  The only way I caught it was I could not purge yesterday when balancing the bank rec due to the "out of balance".  

The run date and A/R date for the posting of the deposit both show as 7/6/09 and it posting into A/R and G/L as July.

I do not know how to rebuild files in bank rec.  Is this something I can do or do I need to contact my reseller?

I have a transaction with a different transaction date, run date and posting date. The run date is clearly wrong. How could this be? How is it changed>
