When scrolling through Item Maintenance or Item Inquiry records an item description pop-up is displayed for any item descriptions longer than the 30 default character limit.  Is there a way to turn these pop-ups off?

Can't turn them off, but you can change the tab settings on that screen to omit the description... which will skip that field and therefore not display the pop-up window.

You're right Dawn. I posted the correction on ask90minds.com, but forgot to update this thread. To invoke this feature, uncheck "Allow automatic display of full item description when not in a grid" check box in Role Maintenance | Security Events tab (under Inventory Management).

Hi All.

As far as the Grid in SO not having ext desc pop up.  There is no on off switch for that one.  But I played around and found that if you go into custom office for SO panel, in the bottom grid (not the top for some reason), you can add the Itemcodeescription from the Itemcode table (Click Show all fields).  The 2nd instance of the item code description will be at the bottom of the 2nd grid list in the SO entry panel at that point.  You ca n take that 2nd instance of item code desc and bring it to the top grid, and the ext desc will not pop up off that field

Not sure what version you did this on, but disabling the "Allow automatic display..." in Role Maintenance turns off the Extended Description pop-up in SO Entry.
