Anyone played with this much yet?
Was just experimenting by trying to create an asset from A/P. Appears that it tried to create an asset in fixed assets, but failed.
Set up the interface, established a template, established an asset account.
Message on the import indicates - Check the Library Master Activity Log for any errors or warnings received in Fixed Assets. Interestingly enough, there was nothing to be found in the activity log which was relevant.

Hmm. Found reference to starting a service which does not appear to be present on my computer?
It appears to be talking to FAS because it pulled in the asset template.
Maybe this function is only available with the extended enterprise version loaded? Seems odd that the setup would be present in plain vanilla MAS 90 if that was the case.
(Yes, I do have FAS 100 installed although it is a standalone copy, not the one from the extended enterprise disks.)

Tom,
You do not need EES in order for the AP link to FAS to work. You must, however, load the version of FAS that comes with MAS 90/200. There is a document regarding migrating the data (essentially, backup data, uninstall stand alone version of FAS, then install MAS 90/200 FAS - which is detailed in a separate document).

Actually, the software you need to use is called Sage Fixed Assets (which is basically FAS) but if you're looking for the disk, this is how it is labeled.

That could be ugly! If I recall correctly, the FAS that comes with Sage is limited to about 500 assets (maybe I recall incorrectly). If that's true, then you could not use FAS 100 which is unlimited assets which is what my client needs. I may need to call presales support on that one.

Let me clear up a few misconceptions in this post. Both MAS Fixed Assets (limited to 1500 hundred assets, not 500) and FAS 100 can be linked to Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200. The trick is, as someone in this thread alluded to, you can only have one FAS or Fixed Assets database on your system at any given time. So, you need to delete a previous version of FAS before you install a new version. Also, FAS must be installed in the default directory as MAS 90 expects it to be there.

LoriD,
Actually, if you are running Sage MAS 90 or 200 v 4.3 or higher, both FAS 100 and MAS Fixed Assets allow you to link via AP or PO to create assets automatically. Please see the attached PowerPoint slides, taken from a larger deck that was presented at Sage Summit in 2008.

I have MAS90 vs 4.30.0.8 and Fixed Assets 2009.1. I have also tried to use the AP/FA integration with limited success. It seems to create an asset in AP. When I print the Fixed Assets History Report in AP, I can see the assets created from my template in AP entry. But none of them have asset numbers (they all say "not created") and I don't see them when I go to fixed assets. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
By the way, I have not gotten the GL integration to work either. I can get it to print the journal entry but it doesn't post to the gl. Maybe these are related??
