Help with a conditional suppression in Crystal

Hello.  I know enough about Crystal to get me in trouble :smileywink: (add fields, basic formulas), but I have a problem.  I am trying to add Alias Item Numbers onto our Picking Sheets.  When I did this, (using field IM_04AliasItemNumber), the line would print as many times as there were aliases for the given Item Number.  For example, if an Item has 6 aliases, the line on the picking sheet would print incorrectly 6 times.  So I suppressed it by Alias number type (General "G", Vendor "V"), just to get me the "V" (Vendor) types.  This gets me down to just vendors, but the REAL issue here is how do I write a formula to have the detail section run ONCE and only once regardless of how many alias item numbers there are?

Thank you very much to anyone who can help me out with this.  I'm sure (I hope) it is a very simple thing to do.  Also, I would love a recommendation for a book or resource that teaches how to work with this Crystal Reporting.  The "Help" in Crystal explains the functions, etc, but the syntax is a bit tricky.  Thanks again!  -Nathan Adams

Re: Help with a conditional suppression in Crystal

What version are you on? I ask because in v4.20 and later it is part of the works table. If on a lower version your best option is to use a sub-report rather than add a table.  As far as books go I like The Complete Reference by George Peck.

Thanks for the reply.  Sorry I forgot that!  It is 4.3.0.20

In v4.30 the Alias Item number is included in the works file. You do not have to add the table just pull the field on the form.
