Tables using GL_FinancialReport2.rpt

Hello Experts,

I would like to figure out what tables make up the canned 'GL_FinancialReport2.rpt' file.  I was informed by Sage support that this would be an enhancement request but I imagine that someone that may have came across this request can share the information with me.

Does anyone know the tables involved that make up the GL_FinancialReport2.rpt report?

Thanks in advance!
Zack

Re: Tables using GL_FinancialReport2.rpt

All you need to do is open it with crystal reports and look.

GL_FinancialReportDetailWrk

GL_FinancialReportHeaderWrk

Note that these are temporary files only available at the time of printing from the menu.

Not sure what kind of customization you might need as you weren't terribly specific as to what you are hoping to do.

Re: Tables using GL_FinancialReport2.rpt

Welcome to the Sage Community Zack. All Crystal reports in MAS are based on works tables. These tables do not exist until the report is printed. At that time programming creates and populates the tables pulling data from multiple tables. It would be easy to assume that the tables included the Accounts and Detail Posting tables.

Re: Tables using GL_FinancialReport2.rpt

BigLouie,

Thanks for your prompt response!

I am looking to re-invent the income statement report.  The reason is b/c I will automate this report to run twice a month using a 3rd party tool scheduling tool I support.  In other words, I need to figure out what tables are involved that make up the Wrk files for this report and build it from scratch.

Can you specifically provide me with the table names from SOTOMAS90 database?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you're going to have success recreating any G/L transactions based report using Crystal Reports.

GL_DetailPosting . Thats the table all your GL postings go to.

GL_Account . You'll need this one too as it will provide GL account numbers and Descriptions.

Re: Tables using GL_FinancialReport2.rpt

Thanks for your responses.  But, during data conversion, we had SAGE wipe out  the data in our G/L accounts.  Yet, they are still able to produce the contents in GL_FinancialReport2.rpt.  How is this possible?

A better question: How is the SAGE popuating GL_FinancialReportDetailWrk AND GL_FinancialReportHeaderWrk?

Any assistance would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks!

Just curious...why did you clear your G/L account master file?

Re: Tables using GL_FinancialReport2.rpt

Hi,

It should be pulling from GL_Detailposting.m4t and GL_periodpostinghistory.m4t. If there is data still populating then there is data still out in those files. You can in a test company go to General Ledger/Setup/General Ledger Options and set the years to retain to 1 and then set it to period 12 and current year 2011 and run Year end processing for 2011 and then go back into GL Options and set it to period 12 again and 2012 calendar year and re-run Year end processing to fully clear out the data.
