Hi, This is my first post. I am only using the Mas90 payroll. We upgraded to V4.3 and I went to look at the E-filing menu under period end processing and an error message came up that it was not installed? I read something that you had to install that seperately? I only received one CD for the upgrade and dont remember coming across that? Can anyone help?

Yes it is a separate install from the main MAS 90 CD.

Welcome to the forums Brownie!
eFiling & Reporting is installed separately but the installation image is on your MAS 90 or 200 Verison 4.30 CD. After it is installed, you will need to activate using your Sage Online user name & password. Please see the knowledgebase article located here for specific instructions.
Hope this helps!

yes, thank you. I am in MN and will be required to e-file my state W-2 for 2009 which you can do on their website. Does this payroll feature just create the file for this or does it actually do the efiling for you?

When eFile is selected, Aatrix will transmit the information to the state on your behalf. Additional information including pricing can be found at https://sagemas.aatrix.com

I think it works this way:
AAtrix will file the EFW2 file with the state for you (for a fee) when you enlist their services. I don't believe you can print the EFW2 file separately when using the new PR electronic reporting in version 4.3. You would need to purchase the separate Electronic Reporting module (formerly Magnetic Media) to create these files for manual filing.

We purchased the electronic filing module last December because Oregon (maybe other states also) now requires all W-2's to be submitted electronically. Unfortunately we found that MAS90 did not support the format for state filing of W-2's except through their Aatrix partner. We prepare payroll for multiple companies and found the Aatrix route too expensive for our clients. At that time MAS90 told us they did not plan to support state e-filing of W-2's because there were too many different formats. If anyone out there has had this problem please encourage MAS90 to change their minds and support the states. We really don't want to change software, but this is a critical feature since required by our state!

I'd prefer the states to just agree on a file format. I sometimes think that the states look at what others are doing & then do something different just to BE different.

I agree that would be the best solution. But since that is not the case it seems like the software we pay for should do what it needs to do.
