Just as a heads up to the community...over the last 2 weeks, I have updated ACT! 2009 to HF 4 for a

few Link clients and now the Refresh Current Company, Refresh By Group and Refresh All Companies

produces the beloved Object Reference not set to an instance error...running the RegCom.bat does not

resolve the issue. Everything else seems to work.

If anyone else sees anything different, please let me know.

Be advised that I believe I heard that the MAS Link to Act is going to be discontinued.

Yes I am aware of the "future" demise of the current product.  I just wanted those using ACT! 2009

and the Link to know that HF 4 breaks the refresh functionality.

The future of ALL links between Sage Products is "SData". You can get info on this by going to:

  SData.Sage.com

Also, in the SalesLogix Community we have been working with SData for some time now. There's a special one day on-line class on SageU in the SalesLogix section under the "Master's Series" on SData as well.

Yes, Act Link is discontinued from Sage as of version 4.40.  You can see it is no longer in the compatibility matrix.

The current ACT Link does not work with any version higher than ACT! 2009 HF 1 and MAS 4.3.

I am working with a third party developer for a new link that I am beta testing with ACT! 2010 SP1 HF4 and MAS 4.4. So far, it looks very promising.  I am going to use this link to test on a rather large ACT DB of 30k+ Contacts and 16k Companies this afternoon.

As soon as the product is ready for release, I will post the information.

RJ had mentioned the SData, to date I have been unsuccessful with getting any potential target dates of when Sage is planning a release for MAS and ACT...right now it has been released for the French version of Sage 50, or so I am told.

Have you had any success yet in getting ACT to work with 4.40 ?

That latest word I have on SDate for MAS products for the USA:

   A - SData is not even on teh roadmap for MAS90/200

   B - The SData project for MAS500 is on indefinite hold

   C - The ONLY ERP/Accounting product for North America that is scheduled for SData is X3

   D - The SalesLogix team is finishing up the SData "Integration Contract" work and is aware of all the above. 

   E - ACT is holding back on exposing their SData "interface"

   F - There are indications that Sage CRM (the old ACCPAC CRM) has SData

Not a good day/news for all the M90/200 or M500 folks who ar elooking for SalesLogix and/or ACT to interface via SData.

ACT! 2011 and MAS v4.4 work with the GUMU Link, even for remote ACT! users. I have worked with the developer team and am very pleased with the product thusfar.
