I have noticed that the log files are taking up a lot of space on our clients server. The folder is D:\SageCRM\Sage\CRM\CRM\logs and it has log files going back to 3/2008. This folder is about 2.5 gb in size and I was wondering how to reduse this size. There are several files created each day ( 20111221ewaresystem.log - 20111222CRMIntegrationService.log ). While not very large they are adding up.
Can I just delete the older files or will this cause problems with CRM?
Is there a procedure\utility to do this?
Does CRM ever use these files or are they just informational?
Is there a setting in CRM to limit the amount of log files retained.

What are your logging options set to? These should be turned to minimal unless you are experiencing other problems with Sage CRM and are trying to diagnose them.
If the settings are not set to minimal logging, I would check with the Sage partner that set up your system to determine why. Maybe they are troubleshooting a problem?
The log files are informational only and you should be able blow them away without any problems. If you want to play it safe, do a fulll system back up and then delete them. You shouldn't need to though.
Feel free to contact me if your current partner cannot assist. It's a pretty minor issue though.
