Sales order Comments

We use many comments within each sales order. Is it possible to add the comment filed to the custom look up options in SO to aid in filetering down to specific data - I prefer not to have a crystal report written to filter down to this data due to the length of time it takes for crystal to return the information. Using custom look up is more immediate.

Any suggestions?

Re: Sales order Comments

If you're referring to the comment field on the Main tab, then yes. It's not possible to include comments from lines, as it's not a 1:1 relationship with the sales order. However, this task is possible using SO Explore | Sales Order View. Drill into the top grid and change the filter to display all orders.

Re: Sales order Comments

Thank you - I find that the explorer is extremely SLOW - it takes a while to populate the data in the grids - does anyone else have this type of issue or can anyone confirm that it just runs slow???

Re: Sales order Comments

If you have more data than the demo company, then yes, the BIE runs very slow.  It's a great tool, just not if you have more than a couple months of data in your system.  It's very sad.

Re: Sales order Comments

I agree that it's slow for aggregating large amount of data, but since this view is limited to active orders (which may only be a few hundred), it's worth a shot.
