Does anyone know if it's possible to add columns to a lookup screen without using the SDK? I want to add "Vendor Item" to the lookup on the "Maintain Vendor Items" screen.

I'm afraid not unless something has changed in 7.4 they haven't told us about.. First you have to modify the underlying view to include that column. Then you will need the utility that ships with the SDK that will allow you to have it display on the lookup.

Tim,
I bet you could do it. I think it's all metadata driven. I bet if you trace a lookup click you could find what to do. 1 hour tops.
That's 2 bets - what's the payout? ![]()

John,
Glad I didn't bet you. You were right! I ran the following statements and the field now shows up in the lookup.
INSERT INTO tsmLookupViewColumnAttr VALUES (4067,'VendItemID','Vendor Item',30) UPDATE tsmLookupViewDisplayCols SET DisplayColumns='VendID,ItemID,VendItemID' WHERE LookupViewKey=4067

Wouldn't you have to have the SDK utility so you could trace it to see what meta-data it creates?![]()

I just ran a SQL profiler trace. I've never used the SDK. What additional trace info does it show?

So do I get a root beer if we ever meet? ![]()
Lou I meant Tim but if you want to cough one up I'll take it. Maybe you'll go to Summit next year. I hear they are going to ask customers/vars to put on more sessions (hint, hint).
