I have been given the task of adding a few UDF's to our sales order entry screen. I have had no problem adding the UDF's and adding them to the entry screen. My questions is do I need to link the UDF's anywhere else? I have added 2 check boxes and a text box for entering EIN numbers on sales orders. I am currently on verions 4.05. Thanks ahead of time,
Nick

You cannot link UDFs for S/O in 4.05.
This is only in 4.1 and later.

This is incorrect - I have many S/O UDF's in MAS200 v4.05 that come from AR Customer Masterfile UDFs. populate S/O Header UDF information, then populate S/O Invoice Header UDF information without user intervention. The info on how to do this is in the Help Files, but not easy to find.

Yes, UDFs can flow through from the customer to the order to the invoice and to history. In 4.05 and lower, this was a little challenging as all UDFs had to be named EXACTLY the same; that is the only way MAS knew to map it.
In 4.10 and above you can name your UDFs anything you want, and you tell them how you want them to map. You now have more places UDFs can flow, as well. Not just history but also AR Open invoice (to display on the invoices tab of the customer maintenance screen).
One neat example of the UDF update capability is adding a field called "Date Last Sale" in customer maintenance and having that update from invoice posting. That is something you could not do in 4.05.

So other than naming the UDFs the same in 4.05, there is nothing else to "map", right?
That's what I was trying to say. In 4.1 and later, you have to "map" UDFs from entry to history files. Simply naming the UDFs the same will not work in 4.1 and later.
