Hi all.
We are currently using MAS v4.05 but will be upgrading to v4.4 this year.
Is there a way to include labor cost to a kit?
For example, let's say there is $1 cost in creating the kit, we would like to include that as part of the kit:
Kit ABC: component 1, component 2, labor cost 1
Thank you in advance!

Depends on what type of Kit it is. If it is a standard Kit you can just use a misc. charge. If it is Kit Bill then no because standard MAS does not allow misc. codes on Kit bills. However Accounting Systems Inc., ASI has an enhancement that will allow misc. charges on Kit bills.

In Bill of Materials, you can't add a misc charge to a kit bill. At least not prior to v4.4 -- I don't know if they changed this with the upgrade.
EDIT - Whoops! Too slow . . .

What's the difference between a standard Kit and a Kit Bill?

Standard BOM would be used for production entries; kit bills can be used in sales orders like inventory kits.

Standard Bills do not explode on sales orders. The system assumes that the components are in a box and ready to go. Kit Bills explode on sales orders if you want them to. This is for sales Kits where all the components are NOT all in a carton but rather lose and gathered together at time of shipping.
