Hi,

I'm trying to change the item number, however MAS 200 is giving me the error:

You cannot proceed with unposted data in SO Data Entry and RMA Receipt Entry.

I have a testing company where I deleted all the batches in SO Data Entry and RMA Receipt Entry. However I'm still getting this error.

I also checked to post any of the unposted G/L entries. No go.

Any other places that I should check? Thanks in advance!

Running MAS 200 4.4 PU4 (yes I know it's a little old, upgrade to 4.5 in the plans)

Did you try updating sales journal and RMA?  There may be "deleted" invoice records on file for example.

Re-init the data entry files. Happens all the time.

Re-init data files on the Sales Order and RMA modules? And all the files within the module?

Also, what does it do and what does it really mean to re-init data files? And what side effects would I encounter if something went wrong in the process?

NO!!! 

Re-initializing wipes out all of your data.  It basically resets the file to what it would be on a fresh install. 

BL suggested re-initializing the SO & RMA data entry files only -- the ones that are already supposed to be empty.  If there's something stuck in there -- like a detail record with no header -- it'll be wiped out.  But all valid records will be wiped out, too.

Yes, those are the SO Invoice Data Entry files. 

I don't have RMA, but the file names sound like they are probably what you're looking for.
