Can someone tell me what is happening during the "Processing Legacy Files" phase of this utility?

We do not have any legacy modules, and the merge seems to slow down at this phase.

That block of code updates Job Cost, Material Requirements Planning and Work Order Modules.

What can we do to speed up the process?

You cannot. The next step (that may not be displaying a message) is updating the Primary Table. For IM that would be updating CI_Item. Then the program does a recaclulation and tier table cleanup.

Right now, it has taken an hour to merge 50 items.

And there's no way to speed up the program?

A little over a minute per item is fantastic or is it still going?

That's pretty speedy compared to the 5 minutes per item I've been seeing in MAS 200.  I've been setting these to merge in the evening and letting them run.

The merge finished in 5 hours.

I need some advice on speeding up this process.

Tom's 5 minute per item is close to my results.

So I'm going to have to tell the client that it will take 150 hours to merge the 1,700 items that are waiting to be merged?

Wow.  I have about 350 items that I am attempting to renumber/merge in a test company.  It's been running for almost 24 hours now and it's still not done.  At 5 minutes per item, hopefully my test renumber will complete sometime tomorrow.  I wonder what can possibly take so long since we don't own any legacy modules?

Between this and the inability to import renumber items, my simple task that I had planned 1-2 hours for has now turned into a 5 day project.

I have to say, I really am loving the improvements to the delete/change utility since we upgraded from 3.71.  haha

I feel your pain.  Merging and deleting items used to be a 1-2 hour job.

I deleted 500 items for a client running 3.71 in about 30 minutes.

Sage, please tell us you're going to improve this process!
