EBM Order Confirmation

We have the e-Business Internet module and we use .order, but not .store.  We're on version 4.30.

When a customer places an order through e-Business, they receive an order confirmation email.  Our problem is that, on credit card orders, the confirmations always have a note saying the order has been placed on hold because there is "No Credit Card Authorization".  Then we have to explain to the customer that their order isn't actually on hold.

I think this is happening because we don't charge the credit card at the time the order is placed.  We wait until we have calculated freight charges.

I would like to remove this note from the confirmation email.  I tried to edit the email in e-Business Manager -> Setup -> E-mail Notification Maintenance.  Unfortunately, the note seems to be part of the <<SALES_ORDER_INFO>> token and cannot be removed without also removing all of the sales order details.

Is there a way to stop this note from appearing on confirmation emails?

Thanks in advance,

Justin

Re: EBM Order Confirmation

No unfortunately as you found out it's all one block of text.  Do you have Business Alerts or KnowledgeSync where you can turn off the canned EBM emails and set up your own custom emails?

Re: EBM Order Confirmation

Thanks Dawn.  That's what I was afraid of.

We do have Business Alerts.  Maybe I'll try that.

Re: EBM Order Confirmation

What is nice about making your own alert is that you can use HTML mail, whereas EBM does not do that.  This way you can make your emails have more sparkle.

Re: EBM Order Confirmation

I have 2 recommendations for you to explore.

1. Add additional text to the confirmation e-mail providing some explanation what the "hold" on credit cards means. Maybe something along the lines that this is a status for us to easily identify and review credit card submissions to insure accuracy.

2. Setting you IT options to attempt the credit card authorizations on shopping cart submission.  In that way, only submissions that can not be authorized will be put on hold.  Of course if you are not using the credit card interface to authorize your submissions, the hold status would be normal for all submissions.

Re: EBM Order Confirmation

We had to turn off email confirmations for this very reason.
