I've read through what little documentation I can find about the EBM and can't find anything about wildcard characters during a search. Do they even exist or does that require a 3rd party addition to the store?

Good question!

The search options I remember are Begins With, Contains and Ends With.  I did a quick look and those are the only options I see. In looking at the search logic it looks like those options may be applied to item number, alias item number and item description.  I don't see anything included with wildcard characters.

So, a third party search feature, similar to that of HighTower's development, is the only way to implement a truly advanced search capability?
