ANOTHER problem with SO totals.... We use Business Alerts to send out notification of new sales orders to the salespeople. The query uses the total in so_salesorderhistoryheader. I've started getting emails that the total is sometimes not matching the total of hte lines. Looking at the data in the files, I can see the nontaxable total is different in so_salesorderheader than in so_salesorderhistory header. The order I am looking into at the moment is a new standard Sales Order and it is not a backorder. I have, of course, tried recalc and resaved the order to no avail. The problem is the history total includes a deleted line item. If I pull up the order through order entry or order inquiry, it shows the correct total. If I pull it up using Sales Order/Quote History, it shows the incorrect total. We are on 4.3 SU 18. Has anyone else experienced this problem, or can someone on the same version compare the totals between the two files and let me know if they see the same thing? Thanks, Matthew Kaney

I have not researched this yet, but I have a cient on v4.4.0.1 with a similar issue.  I don't have it in front of me, but I'm 99% sure this is what I saw:

In S/O entry, totals tab shows:  Non-taxable sales:$2000, trade discount: $100. Net invoice:  $1900.00.  Lines add up to $2000.00

When I open the record in S/O/Quote History, header info shows: Non-taxable sales: -$100.00.  Lines add up to $2000.00

I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot it yet, but will report back when I do.

Hi Matthew,

In Sales Order -> Setup -> Sales Order Options on the History tab, try turning off the option to "Retain Deleted Lines for Orders/Quotes".  It won't fix existing orders, but should prevent the issue going forward.

Thanks for the idea but we do want to retain deleted lines for various reasons.
