I have an issue where I have a item number listed in the alias table.  

The number shows in both the itemnumber column and aliasitemnumber column

My problem is that when I look in the IM1_InventoryMasterfile, the itemnumber is not there.

When I go to add the number in Inventory Maintenance....it freezes.

The IM1_InventoryMasterfile, if I remember correctly, was the ODBC table name used by Crystal in the pre-framework days and is actually reading from the IM1XXX file (where XXx represents your three-character company code), so you could add back the missing record using the LM Utilities, but this should only be done under the guidance of your reseller or support.

That being said, an item code missing from the item master when an alias item number exists doesn't produce hanging in 4.05 (which should be near identical to 4.00). There was a correction for item maintenance hanging if the item's extended description was corrupt.  That issue was corrected circa 4.40. Your reseller or support could assist you in determining if that is the cause and what to do to correct the problem.
