Item Sales History

First, just upgrading to 4.4 from 4.05... I think I may be using this forum regularly... so on that note, a big thank you to all who help, we know your not getting paid to answer our questions :smileyhappy:

 

Before I make a suggestion for future use, I wanted to find out if anyone knows of a solution to this:

The Item Sales History files track Qty Sold, and Qty returned... But it seems to me to be missing a vital part... Qty Ordered.

 

Now I know I can create a table and track this on my own, but it would seem to be a handy addition to the stock table.

Can I ask how you would be using this information?  Typically quantity ordered is kept in the Sales Order Quote History table, in the Sales Order module.  This table can also track quantity shipped, quantity on backorder, and even canceled lines or canceled orders along with the reason code, if you are saving that information.

Primarily as a forecasting tool...

While the period totals and average for item sold is useful, we are a ship/cancel company, so for us, the totals and average for item quantity ordered would be more beneficial.
