Keeping an order from shipping before it is pre authorized

I'm running MAS200 version 4.40.0.4 and the shipping data entry is letting shipping process an order before it has an Authorization Code.  Is there a setting that will keep an order from being shipped (Shipping Data Entry) until the credit card has been pre authorized?

(Because Big Louie is going to read this) If so how?

Re: Keeping an order from shipping before it is pre authorized

If orders are not getting pre-authorized when you accept the order, you must have Batch Authorizations enabled. Why not turn this feature off to ensure every order is pre-authorized when accepted? Another option is to create a script that cancels the shipment if a pre-authorization does not exist.

Shipping data entry disabled after credit card unauthorized /expired authorization

We are trying to figure out how to avoid shipping data entry to basically lock up if you pull up an order that was not authorized (or in our case, authorization had expired).  We enter the order number, the message comes up that the credit card is unauthorized/authorization expired.  Once you click OK, you are stuck on this screen.  The only way to go to the next order is to close shipping data entry and open the batch again.  An invoice is being created for the order with no customer number, or any other data - we have to go to invoice data entry, delete the invoice and then go back to sales order to fix the credit card issue before we ship it.  There should be a way to cancel shipping data entry for that order.

Has anyone experienced this?  What are you doing to get around it?

Thanks

What version are you on? Can you duplicate on ABC company?

We are on 4.40  - don't have the ABC company loaded but checked in the two different companies that we do have and both did the same thing - it just locks up!

Someone already reported this issue to us.  I am not sure in what version it will be fixed.

Is there a place to search for issues already reported by other users?  I searched the forum but didn't find anything on this.  Thanks!

Hopefully the correction will be available in a hot fix instead of waiting for a quarterly product update. This is an issue that can bring an entire shipping dept to a grinding halt.

If you're current with Software Maintenance, start by searching the MAS 90/200 Knowledgebase on Sage Online.

Thanks - i did search the knowledgebase  before I posted to the forum and I didn't find anything there.  Past experience is that issues don't end up on here until well after they are reported.  :smileysad:
