Since we upgraded to 4.4, merging will only allow one inventory item to merge at a time. When you have a whole list to merge this takes a lot of time. We merge new inventory item numbers all the time, based on Vendor changes. Can anyone tell me why 4.4 won't merge more than one item at a time?

This problem has been reported to Sage; however, I do not know the status of the issue.
Hopefully Sage is working on increasing the speed of the Change Items Utility.

What service update are you one? This was working for me last earlier this year at a customer. I wonder if something was broken since then..

We are on service update 4.40.0.5. , we were able to merge many items at a time before the update to 4.4. If Sage is working on it I guess we'll just have to wait till they fix the bug.
Thanks

I hope soon! It took about 12 hours to merge and rename about 1200 items.

When you say it only does one at a time what exactly do you mean?
The grid allows you to enter a a from and to item to be merged into a new item.
And you can do more than one set of items.
ItemA to ItemZ merge into ItemAZ
SecondItemA to SecondItemZ merge into SecondItemAZ
etc.
Also the issue of time has increased do to the addition of many more files in Framework that need to be updated.

I do mean one item at a time, one line ItemA to ItemA into ItemB. If I put anymore than this one line in it just stops, you could wait for an hour and it won't update or move. I have to close it down, then check the items listed to merge, only the first line will merge, all other lines are still waiting to be merged. If only one line is waiting to merge, it updates as normal.

Interesting.
I just tested it like this:
From Item "1A" to Item "1C" New Item "Item1"
From item "2A" to item "2B" New Item "Item2"
It worked fine. Item 1A, 1B and 1C Renamed/Merged into Item1. 2A and 2B Renamed/Merged into Item2.
You may have some corrupted data somewhere that is causing it to hang. You may want to call Support and see it they can assist you.

If your using the same version we are, that may be a solution, we'll have them take a look.
Thanks
