Multiple warehouse on 1 Order

Has someone found a successfully workaround for Shipping from Multiple warehouses on 1 Order? I need to Provide the ability to invoice in same batch/day shipments from multiple warehouses that are entered on same sales order.  Numerous clients have this issue when shipping from different warehouses.  Only one warehouse per invoice cycle.  Second in line warehouse has to wait until the next day to even enter in shipping data entry to generate a packing list.  MAJOR irritation/headaches here.   The only known workaround is to split the sales order..........Anyone?

Re: Multiple warehouse on 1 Order

I think I understand your question...is your issue that your warehouses are actually in two separate locations, so shipper 1 in whse 1 enters his shipments, then shipper 2 in whse 2 needs to enter his quantities shipped (but an invoice has already been created for the order, so you're stuck?)

Re: Multiple warehouse on 1 Order

Depends on the situation, but what about pick lists completed at each location, then forwarded to a central billing station? Pack lists could be generated locally for inclusion with the order. What's the fill rate?

Re: Multiple warehouse on 1 Order

Thank you for clarifying. The only workaround that I can think of, aside from the good suggestion previously posted, is that each location would need to be able to access the other warehouse's shipment (while the shipment/invoice is still sitting in shipping/invoice entry). When the 2nd whse's personnel are entering/increasing the shipped qty from their location, they use a different package number for their portion of the shipment (the package button is above the grid). Your freight calculation method is an area that I'd want you to play with though to make sure your freight amounts are as expected (use Company Maintenance to create a copy of your company to play with). If you select the option to print Additional Packing Lists you will be able to print packing slips by box.

Your idea of separating the order into different warehouses is probably the easiest though unless there is an MD enhancement that already supplies this functionality. Maybe creating a master order for the initial order and then creating a standard order from the master is also an option. Your master order would include all items, and then when you create the standard order from the master, you zero out the lines for the opposing warehouse.

What you're doing in your business, though, sounds very "normal", and I'd appreciate it if you could take a moment and add your idea to the Product Feedback page (using the link above).

Your time is appreciated.
