What alternatives are being used to prevent negative quanities.

I already know about lot/serial not going negative.

We do not want to go with JobOps, which also can add some of this functionality.

There was an engineering request some time ago for this, but it apparantly was not incorported into v4.40.

There is a setting that causes a warning to come up if insufficient quantities are available,  however it does not prevent you from doing it anyway.

I would imagine that would be because you don't want to stop a sale in the situation where the computers records are wrong and you can physically see the item in the warehouse.
