Does anyone know a way in MAS (90 v 4.4) to set up a default that does not automatically pop up the  extended item description every time an item is looked at in Item Maintenance or Item Inquiry?  A goodly number of our Finished Goods items have extended descriptions, and to have that blasted screen pop up every time, rather than just if you want to look, is a real pain.

I just updated a client from v4.4 SU1 to SU4.  They now say that during S/O entry, the extended description pops up and they would like it not to do that.  But they want the description to be on the primary grid (it doesn't popup if on the secondary grid).  The security setting mentioned above does not affect S/O Entry.  Is there another setting somewhere that controls it?

Barbarag: No, unfortunately, in order to stop the extended description from popping when you've moved the field to the primary grid, you'd need custom scripting. Perhaps if you have a moment, you can enter a product enhancement idea using the Product Feedback link above. That would probably be a nice security enhancement.

This worked fine on 4.4 and as everyone expected until SU 3.  Two steps forward, one back.

Hi All.

As far as the Grid in SO not having ext desc pop up.  There is no on off switch for that one.  But I played around and found that if you go into custom office for SO panel, in the bottom grid (not the top for some reason), you can add the Itemcodeescription from the Itemcode table (Click Show all fields).  The 2nd instance of the item code description will be at the bottom of the 2nd grid list in the SO entry panel at that point.  You ca n take that 2nd instance of item code desc and bring it to the top grid, and the ext desc will not pop up off that field
