Production Entry Posting Error

When trying to post a production entry in Bill of Materials, following error pops up:

The directory in P/L Journal and Register Maintenance is invalid or is not accessible from this workstation.

I have tried rebooting workstation and posting as administrator, same error.

Tried posting from server, same error.  Rebooted server, same error.

In another company, we are posting production entries fine.  ONly with one company are we getting this error.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Lisa

Re: Production Entry Posting Error

Lisa, Lisa, Lisa...The message seems to be telling you to call your reseller, :smileyvery-happy: Just kidding, it seems to be telling you that for some reason it cannot reach the directories needed. From that one work station use Windows Explorer and see if it can find the directories. See if you can save a simple text file to those directories from that work station.  All that being said this message is highly suspecious as there is no P/L Journal and no need to go to Register Maintenance in MAS. This could be a malware or virus fake message. I would suggest disconnecting this work station from you network and running a malware scan on the work station.

Re: Production Entry Posting Error

This message means that the directory set up in paperless office for the bill of materials production entry register is invalid for that workstation.

P/L means (PaperLess) and this message is legit, not malware related.

Re: Production Entry Posting Error

Lisa -

Go to the Paperless Office Module, to the Setup Menu.  Go to Journal and Register Maintenance.  Pull up this company code, Bill of Materials, and see where it wants to post the Paperless PDFs to.  Compare it to other modules in which Paperless is working OK, and make the appropriate changes.

What I've had happen is that if you setup the Paperless from the Server, SOMETIMES the path goes in as C:smileyindifferent:Program Files blah blah blah instead of //Server/Accounting/Sage/ blah blah blah (these are just examples) and so on the local machine it's trying to put it into a C drive folder that doesn't exist.  It has to be UNC if you are setting up on the server, or set it up from a workstation but ALL workstations must have the exact same mapped drive.

Re: Production Entry Posting Error

Thank Beth.  This did the trick.  The InforSource Knowledgebase was not the least bit useful in deciphering this error.
