How do you all run rework orders?
We are a metal parts manufacturer that on occasion have returns that have to be "fixed" in some way. What we want to do is raise a WO for the same part number that was returned, but MAS doesnt allow you to do this. I suppose some PPN/CPN loops occurs...
We want inventory tracability (ie complete WO to inventory) but would be interested in other ideas.. At the moment we do a real kludgy book out/book in as a modifed part number.
TIA

We use ASI Service Center. When an item is returned from a customer on a standard order it is a "repair and return". The item never goes into inventory but we can record work and send it back to the customer. We can also issue out inventory to the repair/rework and expense our labor cost if we wanted.
