zip, Yes, we fixed the following extended description defects in PU6 & 4.50. The defects were written internally based on comments on this forum.
1) If the description field is moved to the primary grid, extended description text added to an order isn't always saved.
2) If the description field is moved to the primary grid, when accessing the Item Text Maintenance window on an existing order, with certain steps* clicking on the description field on the next row may show the prior row's description.
*Click on the current row's description, add text, click OK (which sends focus to the next row), then click on the current row's description.
I hope this resolves your customers issue.

Well I just did some testing with PU6 installed, and it appears this issue no longer occurs. HOWEVER, this is a pretty significant issue to the client, and because they have an Enhancement, we can't yet install PU6. @skirmoochsage, any chance of getting this fix for PU5?

Hi Mr Zimmerman (zip). First, let me say thank you for your communications in helping to identify this issue and get it corrected.
Following that, there's no way to re-open a PU that's been posted, but one of my fellow associates said that there may be a way to help your customer. Please contact support and explain your customer's situation. In the past, if the PUX fix (where X represents the appropriate PU version), shows to be compatible with a previous PUX, with agreements in place, there have been hot fixes provided for given programs. I cannot guarantee compatibility of this fix with a previous PUX at this time (a different group does that limited testing), but it's certainly worth looking into. I hope this helps.
