Tracking info for csv upload data

Using Ship Link from 3rd party that works for EDI Link for EDI orders but did not provide UPS Worldship data in Mas and keeps separate data outside the Mas.  Without having UPS Worldship data integrates with Mas that spends time and creates errors easily to put two database together for uploading CSV file when you add UPS Tracking number to match pre-assigned Invoice Numbers in Mas that used VI import after shipped the pkg.

Not sure when upgrade to v 4.3 but still use Ship Link (not ShipGear or Startship) will bring in all UPS tracking number in Mas like Starship or ShipGear does.  I use Starship all the time but no clue for customized  program and like to know who else use this and will provide UPS data in Mas.  Since this is the way the 3rd party software designer suggested but I need to know that will integrate well without spending more time or money  than ShipGear since only use Worldship and FedEx not DHL with very few USPS.

Re: Tracking info for csv upload data

I am not sure about Ship Link, but we use Shipping Integration from ASI.  It bridges the data between MAS200 and World Ship as well as Federal Express.  What it does is takes the data from MAS200 and feeds it into UPS Worldship or FedEx systems, then takes the data when you have finished process the order in FedEx (or World Ship) and imports it into the MAS200 system.  That includes tracking numbers, etc.   After it is setup properly, it has saved us a lot of time in Shipping.   You can read more about it at http://www.asifocus.com/asi-shipping-integration.asp ..

Re: Tracking info for csv upload data

Kerry,  your said "Imports to Mas90" that means you do the VI import or the integration will do it in the backend?

My situation is EDI uses 3rd party software already, I am not able to know any shipping software will affect this 3rd parth software codes that is the most critical part since they said to solve this issue need to use their same shipping software to upload CSV tracking data.  If EDI part did not bring in tracking number in old version then I am not sure v 4.3 can integrate with their old shipping software.

ShipGear or StarShip is good but V-tech does not know ShipGear or StarShip will work for this case or will affect existing 3rd party shipping software (did not work with Mas90 old version) and will integrate seamlessly.   ShipGear can process shipping in Worldship but data will populate in Mas90 after shipped without doing extra step but StarShip needs to process shipping in Mas90 module not in Worldship and will take a little bit more time to get familiar with in shipping dept.

Re: Tracking info for csv upload data

Joy,

When I said "imports" it meant that the users in the Shipping Department pushed a button.   Here (on the surface) is how the Shipping Integration works.  The person in our shipping department is using MAS200 (or MAS90) Shipping Data Entry.  That takes information from the Sales Order module.  Once the order number is entered in Shipping Data entry, the shipping person then presses a button on their shipping data entry screen.  This button creates a text file behind the scene of the order.  The shipping person then goes over to the FedEx (or UPS Worldship) screen.  On that screen, they press a button that is on there.  This button imports the data from the textfile into FedEx or Worldship system.  They then process the shipment and when finished with WorldShip or FedEx, they press another button to create an export text file from the Worldship or Fedex screen.  Lastly, they go back to the Shipping Data Entry screen on MAS, press a button that shows Shipping Data from Worldship and FedEx, select the order that was processed in WorldShip or FedEx, and that imports the tracking numbers, weight, etc. into MAS200 (or MAS90) Shipping Data Entry.  So, you are not using VI for anything in this scenario.

Re: Tracking info for csv upload data

Kerry,  thanks for detail explanation.

I like Starship once setup then everything is in Mas no hassel.  You DO NOT need export or import in FedEx or Worldship just ship from Mas shipping data entry.   V-tech ShipGear sales dept. said ShipGear can bring in data from FedEx and UPS when you ship from FedEx or Worldship but I did not use this before, no clue.
