importing PO into bill of materials

Is there an easy way to import an entire purchase order into a bill of materials or do you just have to do it one item at a time?  copy and paste would sure be handy.

Re: importing PO into bill of materials

What in the world does purchase order have to do with Bill of Materials?  A bill is just what the name implies, a bill of components that make up a item or a kit. With purchase order you are purchasing stock for inventory. Can you explain how the two relate in your system.

Re: importing PO into bill of materials

i use a purchase order to order the parts that i will then use as components in a bill of materials.

if a bill of materials contains every part that was ordered on a purchase order it makes sense to me that it would be handy to copy and paste that entire list instead of entering them a line at a time.

Re: importing PO into bill of materials

If the Bill contains every part that was ordered on a purchase order there is nothing else to do if the Bill is already setup in BOM. The Bill and BOM does not have anything to do with stock status and inventory on hand.

Let me ask you this. Is this a situation where it is a new Bill that has yet to be setup in BOM or is the Bill already setup in BOM.

correct, this has nothing to do with stock or inventory.  simply ease of creating a new bill.
