v.4.4 Upgrade - SO Weight Totals FYI

This is just an FYI for others because I don't recall seeing it mentioned before.

When converting from MAS90 v4.3 to v4.40.0.6, we ran into an issue with weight calculations in sales order.

When invoicing orders that were converted from v4.3, the weight is calculated at either double or triple the actual weight.  We also get funky weight totals when creating new sales orders from master orders that were converted from v4.3 or by copying from history.

So far as I can tell, with one minor exception, the weight calculates correctly when the order or invoice is created entirely within v4.4.

The exception is kits.  We have always included the total weight of the kit in the weight field of the kit item.  We explode all of our kits.  In v4.3, only the component weights were included in the weight total in sales order entry and invoicing.  In v4.4, sales order entry works this way, but sales order invoicing totals up the weight for both the components and the parent.

Re: v.4.4 Upgrade - SO Weight Totals FYI

When converting from 4.30 to 4.40 the LineWeight in SO_SalesOrderDetail was not populated. A workaround would be to DFDM and correct the LineWeight as needed. The issue has been fixed in 4.40.0.7.

Re: v.4.4 Upgrade - SO Weight Totals FYI

We had a customer that experienced this, and it finally flushed itself out after all old converted orders were out of the system.

Cletis -- So I converted one update too soon!  Thanks for the DFDM tip.  I will definitely be using that.

Dawn -- Yes, I saw that new orders calculated properly, so I didn't let the problem halt the upgrade.  I made sure staff was aware of it so that they don't accidentally overcharge on freight.
