Suggestions for sessions at Sage Summit 2009?

All,

The team at Sage is eagerly anticipating your attendance at Sage Summit in Atlanta, GA on November 9-12, 2009.  What education and learning opportunities can we provide at Sage Summit this year that will entice you to attend?

Are you interested in general business information, tips and tricks on how to more effectively use the software you have already invested in, or anything else?  Do you want to learn more about the recent Economic Stimulus legislation and how it effects you and your employees? This is your conference, so don't hesitate to submit your requests.

Let your voice be heard!  Tell us what you would like to learn at Sage Summit 2009. Time is short since we need to nail down the session proposals by June 15, so don't put it off. Do it now!

Re: Suggestions for sessions at Sage Summit 2009?

I'm always up for an ADVANCED session on Business Insights that would cover adding fields.  Or actually, since it's not generally recommended to add fields to native BI reports, I guess it would be better to discuss creating new BI reports with the fields that your organization needs.  I think that at least a portion of a class on this subject would need to cover SQL Join statements.  Perhaps it could be called "BI for Administrators."

Re: Suggestions for sessions at Sage Summit 2009?

I have had made a few suggestions over the last 2 years to make our lives a lot easier.  Unfortunately, I have to say that none of them have been addressed.

Are any of you still having the unavailable "insert line" in AP voucher entry issue?  I was told they were aware of it and working on it.  That was 9 months ago.

We should all get together with the programming (engineering) team - whatever they call themselves.  They write the programs, but WE are ones using it.

Who's going to fly us out there?  Sage should pay to have us out there, since they will be using our imput further and improve their product.  At this time, and in this economy, travel isn't a priority with most companies.

I second the suggestion of a session on ADVANCED business insights.  Also, a session on importing data.

The hand-on sessions are valuable,  I would attend any offerings for D.I.M. (Data Import Manager).  Thanks.

Re: Suggestions for sessions at Sage Summit 2009?

Hi Michelle,

I was sorry to hear that you feel none of your suggestions have not been incorporated into the product. It is certainly possible since we have no shortage of recommendations about how to improve MAS 500 and make life easier and more productive for our customers. We are definitely listening, but do have to make some difficult decisions about how and when to allocate resources. Unfortunately, some really great ideas are still waiting for attention.

That said, I'd be interested to know what version of MAS 500 you are currently using. The current release, v7.2, does allow drag-and-drop of detail lines on both AP Vouchers and AR Invoices. While this is not exactly the insert capability you mentioned, it does provide a simple and straightforward way to change the order of detail lines. Instead of inserting a line you would add it and drag it to the desired place in the list.

As for improved ways to communicate your suggestions and other feedback about MAS 500, we will soon be releasing a service for doing just that. IdeaScope will first be introduced here in the MAS Online Commnunity this summer. It will also be available from directly within the product itself beginning with the coming v7.3 release. One of the most important features of this service is the automatic feedback it provides to the submitter on the status of their ideas. We hope this will give our customers a better view into what happens to their suggestions and to the ideas other people have offered. Until then please feel free to post your suggestions here and I can assure you that they will receive careful consideration.

Almost anything on Sage Active Planner would be appreciated.  I remember thinking the topics were great last year, however I was unable to attend.

I'd also like to hear something about the plans for the replacement of FRx with Mas500.

Skip, glad to see there is a session scheduled called "Keys to Success With Sage MAS 500 Material Requirements Planning."  That will probably be useful for some folks.  There really is a lot to MRP.  That should almost be an all-day session by itself.  :smileyvery-happy:

Skip, one thing I never see at the conferences is how to utilize the pivot table and graph in BIA. I use them extensively. I've done training sessions in our company and found it odd that few folks were even aware what the BIA's could do. Its a very powerful tool that I hope Sage keeps and improves upon.

Re: Suggestions for sessions at Sage Summit 2009?

John, I agree that the pivot table is one of the greatest things since sliced bread for anyone working with data.   We use them quite a bit and couldn't get by without them.  It would be great if they were included in Summit session.
