Why was Editing capability pulled from site

Just a quick question of why the editing capability was pulled from the new site.  In the previous version if we had fat fingers or needed to add information to one of our posts we had the option of going back and editing it later.  This was a useful feature to say the least.  Would it be possible to get this feature back?

Re: Why was Editing capability pulled from site

Lou,

The ability to edit a post is a permission that can be set at the site, category, or individual forum level. I checked the default permissions for the MAS 500 Discussion Forum and it appears that this permission is still turned on, so I am not sure why you have be unable to edit your own posts since the site upgrade. One caveat is that there is a time limit that confines the ability to edit posts to 24 hours. If you add a post and decide to change it the next day you could be out of luck.

I will see if I can confirm that the permissions are correctly set. If not, I will see that they are corrected since it was not our intention to change this.

Re: Why was Editing capability pulled from site

Hey Lou, it looks like the 'Edit' option is back.  Unfortunately there's still no grace period though.  Even if you edit it immediately after posting, it still shows the post as being "edited."  You know, it's important that we all know you clicked 'Post' before noticing your screw-up.  Ha!  :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Why was Editing capability pulled from site

Lou, you can find the edit option on the top right corner of the message, from the drop down Options link.

Skip is correct that you have 24 hours to make an edit, and Ralph is also correct that your post will indicate when you've edited a post, even if it is only 20 seconds later :smileyhappy:
