Product Update Enhancements

We continue to offer added value for our on-plan customers, add enhancements with each update. I’d like to highlight some of the recent ones in the August PU:

  • Client installation will only install files that have changed since the currently installed product update. No more overwriting a file that we didn’t change but you did!
  • SQL Server 2008 R2 support.
  • Sales account default behavior controllable by you to be either customer based or item based, with a hierarchy logic based on the option you choose.
  • Document transmittal of individual customer statements from the Customer Statement report.
  • Duplicate customer PO warning in Sales Order Entry

Version 7.4

We’re busy working on this release and on track for our delivery dates. We’ve built lots of new, productivity enhancing features such as customer refunds for any payment type, over applying invoices and applying refunds to payments. Units of measure have been improved both in how they can be entered and how many decimal digits of accuracy are stored by the system. Quantities too small to see are automatically adjusted based on rules specified on the item. And if a mistake is made entering a Labor Entry or Production Entry in manufacturing, in 7.4 it can be undone with a reversal. This is just a few examples – there are many, many more enhancements.

Hopefully we’ll see you at Sage Summit so we can talk more about these and all the new features.

Ongoing Activities

The team is doing a wonderful job and having a lot of good exchanges while utilizing our new Agile scrum development process. Even our new work environment is designed around Agile.

We continue to automate test cases, covering more areas of the product and of course are working to remove imperfections, constantly improving quality.

I’m excited at what the team is achieving and look forward to bringing these and future features to our customers.
