Beta & Controlled Release
- A Critical Phase of a Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC)-
As we have progressed in our current release cycles through Conception, Implementation, Sprints and Integration checkpoints, we are about to enter the final "Pre-Launch" phase. One of the most critical components of this phase is the Beta (installed on a test system) testing and Controlled Release (installed at a customer site for live use) process.
Now that the development cycle for the release is winding down and the Quality Assurance team finishes their regression testing we move into this phase and reach out to our partners and customers to get hands on feedback regarding the quality we have built into the product.
While the engineering team performs many levels of quality check points throughout the PDLC, from design review, code review, unit testing, feature/function testing and then regression testing, this field level feedback gives us the assurance that all of the critical areas in the software are addressed.
We have had many faithful beta and controlled release participants over the years. Some of you may have already received an email from our Product Management group and have even returned your beta agreement but there is still time for others to get involved. This is your opportunity to participate in the development of the software, learn about the new features included in the release, and give us your constructive feedback.
For MAS 500, beta is open to both customers and partners; for MAS 90, 200 and the Extended Enterprise Suite, beta is open to partners, with Controlled Release open to customers. Customers who would like to participate must have an active subscription plan for the product they sign up to test.
