I want to add a field which shows the accumlated YTD shipments for any given part number, customer, etc. Is there a way to do this or do I have to modify the existing report with Crystal Reports?
If the later, is there a stored defined field for "Accum"?
Thanks!

I'm not sure what you are exactly asking for but yes you will have to modify the crystal report. As for getting the data you should install the schema browser. It is an invaluable tool for MAS 500. Take a look at the tables with 'Hist' in the name. For instance tarCustTranHist is a summarization of customer transactions by customer address by fiscal period and fisc year and posting date. So if you wanted year to date you would have to summarize the data.

You could certainly add running total fields in Crystal, but what are your thoughts about using a pivot table, either in Business Insights or Sage MAS Intelligence? Or, if neither of those options work for you, you could just point a spreadsheet directly at a database view and set up a pivot table to present the data the way you want it. Those might be some options to consider before modifying the Crystal Report. I tend to prefer Excel over Crystal for most Sage 500 ERP reporting, but that's me. ![]()

I agree with you Ralph. Most users end up exporting Crystal reports to Excel anyways and spending time formatting them each time they run the report. If it's something that gets primarily printed (like a Purchase Order) then I prefer Crystal. If it's a report merely for gathering data, then I prefer Excel.
