Add Account Group

I am being asked to add a new account group in our general ledger so that one of our accounts is now listed as a long term liability. I went to >Setup>Account Group Maintanence and can see all of the account groups but cannot seem to add a group or change the account numbers. My boss wants to change the account group for two of our existing accounts. Can this be done? If so, how? Thanks!

Re: Add Account Group

I seem to be able to do this - just type in the new name that you want the group to have, give it a description, select Category, Type and Cashflow Code, and then click "Save" or "Finish".  Perhaps it is a permissions issue?  Then, to change the existing accounts to be in the new group go into Maintain Natural Accounts, enter the account number and change the group.

Good luck!

Re: Add Account Group

I cannot find Maintain Natural Accounts. I have the account set up, but it automatically defaults to the wrong account group, and I cannot change it. When I go into General Ledger>Main>Account Maintanence, and look up the account I want to change the account group for, the account group box, catagory, and type are unable to be edited. Please advise. Thanks!

Re: Add Account Group

Are you working on MAS 500? If so, go to General Ledger, Maintenance, Maintain GL Accounts, Maintain Natural Accounts.

You can change it only for the natural account as this drives the corresponding Accounts (with applicable segments).

If that doesn't work perhaps it is a permissions issue.

Thanks,
Sarah
