Can someone please advise me of the following:
Is the ASCII file format suppose to use fixed, spaced or camma seperators?
Is there a Max field length.
Also, can anyone tell me which is better to use an ASCII file or a CSV file?

Are you attempting to use Data Import Manager to import this file?

Yes we are but we are not upgrading to 7.4 until late January and I wanted to make sure that the 7.4 format is the same as the 7.2 format.

If you are using data import manager you need to setup the source connection. The best type to use would be the one that closely matches the source file data, i.e. you probably want to massage the data as little as possible.
