Does anyone of a microsoft patch that will allow Business Insights version 7.2 export to excel when using Office 2010?  I know with prior versions of MAS, when you used Office 2007, you just needed to download the Office web components.  I tried downloading the Office web components, but that still would not allow the BI to export to excel.

Just out of curiosity, does Exporting offer any benefit compared to Ctrl-A>Ctrl-C>Ctrl-V (SelectAll>Copy>Paste)?  For example, does Copy&Paste bomb when the amount of data in the BI report exceeds a certain percentage of RAM?   I'm just trying to understand why someone would use the Export function as opposed to Copy&Paste.  I'm guessing there is at least one reason and I just haven't encountered the particular situation yet.

I am curious too. The export function seems to be slow comparing with the Copy + Paste.

Copy + Paste is faster and you get the columns you selected instead of every column in the view.

After watching the What's New In 7.4 video today, I now know of a reason to use the export function instead of Copy&Paste... in 7.4.    It looks like if you export to Excel in v7.4, it will include the alternating row shading that is seen in BI for appearance and ease of reading.

Well dang it, Dan, I'm tryin'!    There has to be some reason why the "Match data in BIE display when exporting to Excel" suggestion has 40 votes, right?.

I suggested that they use the copy and paste for now, since they are not upgrading, and it is working.  Not sure why I didn't think of it.

The row shading was removed from the 7.40 GA release cause some beta customers indicated the shaded rows were difficult to read.
