Re: Exporting from BI

The issue is with Excel. I mentioned Notepad to the support person because he tried telling me that it was not a MAS 500 problem but an Excel problem. When you paste into Notepad, you can tell that it is a MAS 500 problem because you see the extra double quotes.

Re: Exporting from BI

The reason strings are enclosed in quotes is because some of the fields may contain the comma character; the comma character is the field delimiter for CSV formatted data. The problem was when enclosing the string in double quotes the double quote character needs to be handled properly, i.e. the issue here. The fix will be in the Dec 2011 PU for 7.3 and 7.4.

Re: Exporting from BI

Excellent. Can I just run the affected executable without having to do a full upgrade to Dec 2011?

Re: Exporting from BI

The change is in DataviewServices.dll. There have been several fixes in this DLL since the 7.3 release; I would not recommend just dropping the PU version of the DLL into a RTM version of the client.

Re: Exporting from BI

Ok.  We'll just have to wait until our next upgrade to 7.4.
