v7.20.14
There are three "sections" on the Replenishment tab in Maintain Inventory. My question is in regards to the fields found in two of the sections. Looking at the sections, the lower left section has these fields...
Demand Formula
Projected Demand
Safety Stock Formula
Projected Safety Stock
Lead Time Formula
Projected Lead Time
and the section to the right has these fields...
Reorder Method
Use Min/Max Until
Minimum Stock
Maximum Stock
Order Point
Line Point
Standard Order
Cost of Replenishment
Carrying Cost %
Order Cycle
Would it be accurate to say that fields in the lower-left section relate to the tasks found under IM-->Activities-->Replenish Inventory, and do NOT pertain to MRP?
Would it be accurate to say that the fields in the section on the right relate to MRP, and do NOT pertain to the tasks found under IM-->Activities-->Replenish Inventory?
Or, is it not that clear cut?
The on-line help explains the fields, but doesn't unambiguosly state that certain fields shown there are for use with either the Inventory Replenishment tasks OR MRP, but not both. In fact, the help for that tab doesn't mention MRP at all, yet I know that at least some of the fields there do pertain to MRP. So I was just wondering if I could basically consider one section of the tab to be the Inventory Replenishment section and the other section the MRP section. If so, I think I'll label the sections for clarity, since they both seem like they could be involved with the Replenish Inventory tasks or MRP.
Also, for companies using MAS' inventory re-stocking tools, is it typical that they would use either Inventory Replenishment or MRP, but not both?

Hey Ralph-
Somewhere I've got a doc with a table that shows what each of does in terms of MRP or PRO. We're having network problems at the moment. I'll dig it up and send it to you.

Thank you!

While there's a very good document on IM replenishment, there's almost nothing about MRP.
Sage should definitily do a better job documenting this module. Maybe in 7.4? ![]()
I always recommend my customers to get the enhanced MRP from e2btek
By the way, dbcoles, EOQ is not compatible with MRP. That would be a nice to have for version 7.4

With regards to the Maintain Inventory screen, all fields generally are there to support IM Replenishment. Since MRP uses parts of IM Replenishment, it can be said that many of the fields also support MRP in an indirect fashion. Another way to look at it is that the manufacturing module was originally created by a third party and then later purchased by Sage. Prior to that, these fields were already on Maintain Inventory to support IM Replenishment.
So, as far as I know, the screen does not have any fields there to only support MRP. Hopefully the list described in other posts will highlight how the IM Replenishment fields can effect MRP.
