Bug?

We have "Activate Change Order Processing" checked in "Set Up PO Options" and we require issue on all puchase orders.  My understanding is that it should only create a change order for a PO if it is issued.  However, I noticed that if a purchase order line is tagged to a sales order line, it will generate a change order even though the PO is not issued.  Isn't this a bug?

I just tested version 7.30 and 7.40 and they both work correctly (does not ask for a change order after changing financial information on an unissued PO). Are you on a lower version?

I did not see a defect that we fixed for a prior version, however it could be my searching. Check to see if you have customizations. Also you might want to contact support.

I just confirmed this in the SOA company for 7.3 August 2011 Update.

1. Activate change order processing
2. Create PO for Item "8.4GB Hard Drive"
3. Save and close (no change order required)
4. Re-open and tag to SO 304
5. Save and close (no change order required)
6. Re-open and change quantity
7. Click save icon
8. Change order is required even though PO never issued

I was testing on 7.30 Dec 2011 PU, and did not use a Sales Order. Let me see what I can find out.
